Some people have an ever-growing collage of printed (sometimes laminated) affirmations surrounding their bathroom mirror. Stuff like “I have infinite worth and unlimited potential.” or “I desire and expect a miracle concerning my life!” or “God is my pilot.”
I tend to like more bold and snarky forms of inspiration. Little phrases that tap the disruptive rebel in me and remind me for an instant that I’m in the middle of a one-time-around life.
My friends Axel and Josh at Language In Common recently made a poster of their favorite inspirational quips. Well worth the 2cent color copy and thumbtack to attach it to your cubby wall. I put mine behind my sewing machine.
